Meet Lisa

Hi! I am Lisa McCormick.  I work from a place that is attachment-based, neuro-affirming, incorporates family systems, and is trauma-responsive. I utilize research-based, neurobiologically-informed principles and strategies to help couples and families develop confidence, discover their strengths and grow to be the best version of themselves in the relationships that matter the most to them.

For parents, I strive to help you understand your child’s unique way of regulating and expressing themselves, the impact of the parent-child relationship on your child’s developing brain, and how to support their social emotional development. Children develop and heal in the context of their relationships so you are the most important part of your child’s life; let me help and support you through that journey.

For couples and families, I am committed to helping you understand each other’s way of regulating and communicating so that you don’t keep getting stuck in the same negative patterns, causing stress and exhaustion.  I will give you concrete tools you can walk out of my office with, while also working toward the deeper-rooted issues that will create longer-lasting change.

A key piece of my therapy practice is creating a space of safety, curiosity, reflection, and non-judgement. I use a variety of theoretical orientations and perspectives based on what will help you best heal and meet your goals. During my years working in this field, I have seen firsthand how playfulness for all ages leads to an open and genuine connection.  I also feel incredibly privileged to work with neurodivergent couples and children to explore, accept, and learn to work with their unique and beautiful differences and strengths. It’s a true honor that clients welcome me into their world, to work collaboratively, so that healing, growth, and connection can occur.

I practice in a way that welcomes and accepts diversity which includes all relationship statuses/identities, sexuality, genders, religions, neurodivergence and body sizes.

If you are interested in working with me please call the office or email me today!
